Better Together: Integrated Payroll Reporting and Analysis for Dynamics 365 Business Central
As evidenced from statistics provided by Microsoft at recent Dynamics events, their Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365 BC) ERP system is maturing and growing rapidly across the markets where it is currently available.
Concurrently, with Microsoft’s D365 BC functionality enhancements, there is an entire community of independent Software vendors (ISVs) buzzing with energy. These ISV companies come from across the globe, and many originated from the classic Navision or Dynamics NAV add-on industry while others came from development communities for Great Plains and Solomon, now referred to as Dynamics GP and SL.
Usually, ERP customers expects the so-called ISVs only to extend the functionality of the ERP system itself. But, once in a while, you find these ISVs working together to provide an even more enhanced experience for the customer.
A great example of this is long time colleagues and industry partners, Integrity Data and Solver. Payroll Now is Integrity’s Payroll solution for Microsoft’s D365 BC ERP system, and BI360 is Solver’s reporting, consolidation and budgeting solution.
While both solutions are independently integrated to D365 BC, they now also work together after the two companies met and decided to configure a joint integration.
Leading ERP vendors, like Microsoft, SAP and Sage Intacct, nurture vibrant ISV communities and App marketplaces that are helping a rapidly increasing number of companies move to the cloud to drive efficiencies in their businesses.
With the maturing of ERP application program interfaces (APIs), one of the next big cloud drivers is that ISVs work together to give customers elegant integrations across both standard ERP data and transactions originating from ISV add-ins to the ERP systems, eliminating many of the custom integrations that had to be configured in the old on-premise platforms.
In the 2020’s, with rapid technology improvements driving industry changes, managers will demand and need complete insight to their data to drive faster and better decisions. ERP vendors and ISVs are making good strides to make this happen!
